WWF supports environmental management of offices with its model schemes and tools. WWF also gives advice on setting up and developing the Green Office system.

Network Meetings and Workshops

Each year, WWF organises network meetings for the office representatives of the Green Office environmental teams. At the network meetings, matters relating to the environmental programme are considered, awkward issues are addressed and experiences shared.

In addition to the network meetings, smaller workshops may be organised that focus on particular topics.

Eco-Tips and Facts

WWF will e-mail practical Green Office tips to those offices belonging to the network. Every year, around 20 Green Office tips will be given.

During the office inspections, WWF will provide eco-facts and advice on the development of the programme. When the Green Office designation is awarded, WWF will give advice on developing the EMS as required.

The offices in the Green Office network may order the Pandan Polku magazine (in Finnish) free of charge.

Tools

WWF provides those holding the Green Office designation with model schemes and document templates to help them set up and maintain their EMS.

  • The assessment form helps to determine the office's environmental considerations and its starting position.
  • Environmental programme model help them to set up their own environmental programme.
  • Completion of the online Green Office questionnaires, such as the Consumer-Habit Questionnaire, is quick and simple.
  • Annual reporting is undertaken using the Climate Calculator web service. With its help, offices are able to estimate the carbon dioxide emissions they generate via electricity and heat consumption, travel, transport of goods and paper consumption.
  • GOnet is the Green Office network's own extranet. On GOnet, you can access additional information, and offices may download various materials – including the Green Office logo – for their use.

Support for Environmental Communication

WWF awards the Green Office diploma and the right to use the Green Office logo to offices fulfilling the Green Office criteria. The logo may be used by organisations in their communication in accordance with WWF's guidelines.
